Conversation w/Faith a last month:

Me: Faith, it's time to get dressed, and you may not wear a dress
Faith: Yes, I HAVE to wear a dress!
Me: no, you may not wear a dress. It's cold outside and you may not wear a dress to the park
Faith: YES I WILL WEAR A DRESS!
Me: no, you may not
Faith: YES I WILL!
Me: no, no dress
Faith: **cluthing her hair with her hands** AHHHH, you're making me a headache!!

4th of July at the Auto Club Speedway

It was hot, like the kind of hot where your skin itches from the sweat. I only wish I had remembered to bring deoderant because I could have used a touch-up.
We went to the speedway with mom and Jim. It was a fair-like atmosphere with lots of fun stuff for the kids to do, mixed in with over-priced food and a lack of shade. I might mention that since it was at a raceway there were a lot of 'race folks' there...Travis mentioned that he felt like he needed to knock out a few of his teeth to fit in. He was just mostly kidding.
There was a free Taylor Hicks concert, which was cool because we really like him. Faith enjoyed dancing at his concert. The firework show at night was really neat. They gave out 3D glasses to watch the fireworks with, too.

Bowling, Beer and Karaoke: The Holy Trinity

Let's just say that this was a fun night!
Bowling, pitchers of beer and fun friends equals a great night. But when you close the night with a little bit of karaoke, well that makes for the perfect ending to a perfect night.
I should probably add that I beat everyone's butt in the second bowling game, because that's how I roll ( get it..roll? lol)

The most SUPER, FANTASTIC, most AWESOME year!

Ethan is great! He had such a great year this year! He has had so many wonderful accomplishments, he has made us the proudest parents ever!! This year Ethan has:

Made Honor Roll !!!

Became one of the top fundraiser in his school !!

Made the game-winning run to get his baseball team into the playoffs !!

Was nominated and chosen to be on the All Star Team!!

Ethan, you are going to blow up because you are THE BOMB!! Love you!

Fun in the Sun

We usually spend a lot of time at the Poveda household during the Summer months. They have a pool--we don't--no explanation necessary. Well, we also like their company, too. Carlos and Travis have a shared love of booze, while Marisela and I have a shared love of booza AND old school music.

Vegas, Baby!!

Suffice it to say that most people wouldn't take a plane trip to go spend 3 days with a bunch of people they never met. Well, I'm not most people.

I 'met' a group of ladies online through a message board that caters to new parents. When I was breastfeeding a 4 month old little leech named Faith I was having an extremely hard time getting that girl to un-suck her mouth from me. I needed advice, and I needed it now!

So I hopped online to get advice from other mom's like me, and as the saying goes, the rest is history.

I found a group of girls that I really, really liked. We have much more in common than just kids. I 'talk' to them pretty much every day. We have been talking for years, and it seemed only appropriate that we meet in person.

And could Vegas be anymore of a perfect place to meet a bunch of moms in desperate need of some crazy girl time?I met up with Rachel, Nicole, T, and Kris. They're just as great in person as they are online. We had the most awesome time on our first day there, just hanging out at the pool with 2, 3( or maybe it was 4? )buckets of beer.

I really hope that we can make this an annual trip because we just had so much fun! If I'm lucky I'll meet up with a few of them next year when we go to Pennsylvania for vacation.
